Our 7 favourite bars in the British Virgin Islands
The team at Bonita has rounded up their seven favourite bars in the British Virgin Islands across Tortola, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke. Some you may be familiar with but hopefully we can excite you with some lesser known gems and places that you can enjoy a cool drink or a great meal as you island hop.
If you'd like to visit any of the bars featured, please let our team know, we can organise that for you here
The small, intimate and sophisticated bar sits in Tortola's Pier Park offering a relaxed setting for you to enjoy.
The carefully crafted menu features modern classics, fine wines, locally brewed draft beer and even a 'low and no' section with mocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. The cosy bar also stocks a range of high-quality drinks to enjoy at home including BVI GIN and BVI VODKA.
#2 Indigo on the Beach
If you're looking for a chilled vibe, great drinks and an incredible sunset, Indigo is the place to go.
Cane Garden Bay beach is known for its hustle and bustle and as one of the best sunset spots in the BVI, Indigo is perfectly placed at the far end of the beach. The relaxed, family-friendly boho beach setting makes you feel right at home, offering great food, drinks and a great time!
For you sunset lovers, another place you absolutely must visit is CocoMaya on Virgin Gorda. Their extensive cocktail menu includes your favourite classics as well as signature specials with their own CocoMaya twist.
Enjoy the sand beneath your toes, beach games, exquisite food, live music and perfectly blended cocktails as the sun dips below the horizon - CocoMaya is the definition of barefoot luxury.
A higher-end eatery in Tortola that offers a classy cocktail bar vibe. Sit underneath the twinkling lights of the hidden courtyard whilst sipping a glass of fine wine, champagne or a cocktail, made by a very talented bar manager.
#5 Saba Rock
Saba Rock Resort is a resort island perched in the middle of the North Sound between Prickly Pear and Virgin Gorda. Only accessible by boat, it is a 'must-do stop-off' for any keen sailor or day charter trips around the North Sound.
#6 Cooper Island Rum Bar
Cooper Island is certainly on the hit-list of places to visit during your vacation in the BVI. The resort commits to sustainable tourism and offers a stunning relaxed environment to spend the day with your party. The restaurant and bar serves delicious food and cocktails... and then there’s The Cooper Island Rum Bar - home to the largest selection of rums in the Virgin Islands as well as six varieties of craft beer from the Cooper Island Brewing Co.
P.S Happy hour runs daily from 4pm - 6pm.
#7 Soggy Dollar
You can't come to the BVI without trying a 'Painkiller' at the bar where this cocktail originated in the 1970s. Soak up the vibe of the pristine white sandy beach of White Bay as you watch the yachts come and go throughout the day.
